Who We Are
A short story about the L&DMR
Our model railway club was formed in 1965 with the members meeting at each others homes until size demanded a more permanent location. Since then the club has maintained our own club rooms hosting both "HO" and "N" scale layouts. The club has become well known in our community and regularly attends model railway shows with our travelling layouts as hosted by other clubs in a number of southern Ontario communities. The club was incorporated in 2002.

Our Annual Spring Train Show, held each year since 1974, continues to attract large crowds of ardent train fans as well as families seeking entertainment.

Recently the club has partnered with the City of Kawartha Lakes to create a Railway Heritage Centre at Memorial Park in Lindsay. Currently railway artifacts from our community and others are being restored and other community railway heritage artifacts are being targeted for possible relocation and restoration.
